Social Media and Investment Advice - Not allowed

Did your advisor communicate with you about your investments using a social media?  Using WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, etc. for client communications is often contrary to consumer protection rules. Yet, despite the obvious compliance reasons for barring these apps, some advisor's can't help themselves. Is this grounds for the dealer to both report the advisor to the regulator and terminate the advisor? This represents a serious compliance breach.
